Artist Bio:

Warren Sheppard (1858–1937) was an American marine painter known for his detailed depictions of sailing vessels and coastal scenes. Born in Greenwich, New Jersey, Sheppard studied under renowned Hudson River School artist Maurice de Haas and later became an accomplished yachtsman, which informed his accurate portrayals of ships at sea. His work often features dramatic skies and meticulous attention to nautical detail, capturing the spirit of maritime life during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Sheppard exhibited at the National Academy and other prestigious venues, earning recognition during his lifetime for both his artistic and seafaring expertise.
