Spencer Silver believed creativity is the merging of art and science. Throughout his life, he explored novel ideas in art, finding inspiration in nature, poetry, and science. As a scientist at 3M Company, he was the co-creator of Post-it notes and was inducted into the National Inventor's Hall of Fame in 2010. His art is a reflection of his curiosity. His pieces are vibrant with color and sometimes hauntingly dark. From his early pastels to his more recent "macrosphere" paintings he continued to explore the interface between art and science.
