France, c.1900, Mahogany, satinwood, rosewood, curly maple, and mixed wood inlay. Cabinet features one door and an open shelf. Includes key.

Provenance: Sotheby’s Auction
Condition: Good overall condition with expected wear for age. The top surface shows scattered scratches, minor finish loss, and a seam split at one corner. The marquetry doors are well-preserved with only light surface marks, and there is additional wear along the edge molding. Both side panels have faint scratches. The inlaid marquetry floral elements remain intact. There has been a repair to the front right foot. Structurally sound.
About: Louis Majorelle (1859–1926) was a leading French furniture designer associated with the Art Nouveau movement. Based in Nancy, he was known for elegant forms, botanical motifs, and expert marquetry. A founding member of the Ecole de Nancy, his work played a central role in the development of decorative arts during the Belle Epoque.
