Jean-François Larrieu is a French contemporary painter known for his colorful, densely patterned compositions that blend figuration with abstracted architectural and botanical motifs. Born in 1960, Larrieu developed a style characterized by layered surfaces, rhythmic linework, and a distinctive use of saturated color. His paintings often depict imagined cityscapes, gardens, and symbolic forms arranged in structured yet highly decorative arrangements. Working primarily in acrylic and mixed media, Larrieu draws on modern French painting traditions while incorporating global cultural references, giving his work a recognizable visual language rooted in pattern, structure, and expressive color.
