About:
Imperial Glass Corporation was an American glass manufacturer founded in 1901 in Bellaire, Ohio. Known for its high-quality pressed and blown glassware, the company produced a wide range of decorative and functional pieces throughout the 20th century. Imperial gained prominence for patterns such as “Candlewick,” “Cape Cod,” and “Nucut,” which became popular during the Depression and mid-century eras.
Imperial specialized in both crystal and colored glass, including ruby, cobalt, and carnival glass, often emulating early American pattern glass styles. After struggling in the 1970s, the company was briefly revived under Lenox ownership before ultimately closing in 1984. Today, Imperial Glass remains highly recognizable for its distinctive mold work, elegant forms, and contributions to American glassmaking heritage.
