Helen B. Dooley (American, 1907–1994) was a California modernist painter known for her landscapes, still lifes, and abstract compositions. Born in San Jose, she studied at San Jose State College, the California School of Fine Arts, and Chouinard Art Institute. Her work often depicted the Monterey Peninsula, desert scenes, and Southwestern subjects inspired by her travels through Arizona and New Mexico. Dooley exhibited throughout California, including at the Haggin Museum, Crocker Art Gallery, and the California Palace of the Legion of Honor, and also operated the Dooley Gallery in Carmel.
