Signed in the lower right and additionally signed in graphite on the verso: 'H. Burkhardt 1969.' Also bears a label reading 'Hans Burkhardt DMS-26' and a descriptive tag in the upper right.

Condition: The Frame shows minor scratches. The image is in good condition, with a fleck paint loss near the signature.

About the Artist:
Hans Burkhardt (1904–1994) is known for his emotionally powerful abstract and expressionist works. Born in Switzerland, Burkhardt immigrated to the U.S. and became a pivotal figure in the Los Angeles art scene. Influenced by Arshile Gorky, his early mentor, Burkhardt developed a bold style blending surrealist and gestural abstraction. His works often explore themes of war, social justice, and spirituality. Today, Burkhardt's paintings are held in major institutions, including MoMA and LACMA.

In-House Shipping

We offer in-house shipping for coins, jewelry, and sterling silver. A $10 handling fee is added to the shipping total. All in-house shipments are fully insured and require a signature upon delivery.

UPS Shipping

All other items will be shipped via our trusted local UPS Store. Once packed, you will receive a shipping invoice directly from UPS. You are responsible for paying this invoice separately.

Third-Party or Self-Arranged Shipping

If you prefer to use your own shipping provider or a third party for pickup, you must notify us within 2 days after the auction closes. We will not release items to outside shippers without written notice and confirmation.

Shipping Address Policy

All shipments must go to the billing address associated with the payment method used.
If you need to ship to a different address, payment must be made via wire transfer.
We do not ship to alternate addresses without pre-approval and secure payment.

Insurance & International Shipping

All shipments must be fully insured and declared at their full purchase value — no exceptions.
The buyer is responsible for all shipping fees, packaging, duties, taxes, and any import/export costs.
International shipments are handled on a case-by-case basis and require prior approval from SebastianCharles.
