Condition: A light handling crease is visible in the lower left corner. There is some minor cracking to the image along the lower quarter, mostly in the light blue section of the image, along with light undulation to the sheet. The image has strong colors.
Bio:
Andy Warhol (American, 1928–1987)
Warhol’s “Martin Buber” screenprint comes from his 1980 series “Ten Portraits of Jews of the Twentieth Century.” In this group of works, Warhol reinterpreted archival photographs of prominent cultural and intellectual figures through layered screenprinting, vivid color contrasts, and fragmented linework. The series reflects his interest in the construction of public identity and the visual language of portraiture, using overlapping graphic elements to emphasize each subject’s historical presence within modern cultural memory.
